About the program
DigitalWell Incubator is a relationship building incubation program, creating a bridge to the public side and offering guidance on how to enter the public market and prepare for scaling with public customers.
The focus is on supporting startups that have a digital product or service aimed at the public sector, with a focus on health and welfare.
We continuously accept startups into our program, but we conduct incubation in mini-batches because we understand that innovation thrives in collaborative environments. One of the key principles of the program is peer-to-peer learning.
DigitalWell Incubator is also designated as one of Sweden´s Excellence Incubators by Vinnova, the national Swedish innovation agency.
The program is tailor-made to every startup’s needs and is divided into four stages with four goals:
Educate
Facilitate Connections
Remove Roadblocks
Scale Smart
How the program works
Pre-incubation: Stage Zero
0
Cover the basics
We receive applications of startups in different stages as well as backgrounds. During the incubation we guide and groom startup companies that they are ready to pitch to the incubator’s DigitalWell Innovation Board - a review board that approves startups to move further in the process and provide valuable feedback.
Incubation:
Stage One
1
Fill in the knowledge gaps
We identify the knowledge gaps and weak areas and try to cover them during the high touch points of the program. These high-touch points can contain the bulk of the content in very intensive bursts and are structured to be beneficial to all the participating startups.

Incubation:
Stage Two
This stage is built around short feedback meetings with the public sector officials. Apart from providing the feedback to the product, it serves also a purpose of understanding the need within municipalities and regions. The experience can feel overwhelming for all the partities, but founders will appreciate every discussion as they will be questioning assumptions, clarifying the value proposition and working towards product-market fit. Stage B is finished with a demo day with a twist - instead of a usual room of investors, the majority of the visitors will be from the public sector.
3
Incubation:
Stage Three
The best for the last
This stage focused on preparation for the public procurement process and go2market-strategies for the public sector. Here we are covering best tips for startups wanting to increase their sales with public organisations such as: understanding of public procurement policy, overview of the different public procurement entities and an understanding of their differences, access to different resources and materials that will make the procurement and sales process smoother, developing a plan to successfully provide your solution to the public sector.
