Startup PhysAct graduates from the DigitalWell Ventures accelerator

1 July, 2022

One of the best parts of running DigitalWell Ventures accelerator is sending off promising start-ups when they graduate!

This spring, DigitalWell Ventures celebrated our graduating start-up PhysAct.

PhysAct started as a fun idea in the mind of Marcus Eng, a Swedish physiotherapist specialising in orthopaedic treatment. Today, it is an advanced app that treats mild to moderate depression.

Through physical exercise and dedicated online support from physiotherapists, Physact addresses one of the greatest challenges of our time.

Milestones:

During our accelerator program Physact checked off several important milestones, including:

  • Landing its first investors.

  • Launching a beta version already tested by the first users.

  • Engaging in a scientific study with Karolinska Institutet.

  • Creating a new team of founders that complements Marcus’ expertise.

  • Initiating a process for CE-certification.

As we speak, Physact is well on their way to sign agreements with regional healthcare providers.

“Physact helps patients with mild depression and thus targets more than 1 million patients in Sweden alone! This app is a perfect example of how domain expertise combined with digital technology can transform healthcare services.”

Stefan Skoglund, Innovation Manager at DigitalWell Ventures.

In Marcus’ own words: “DWV has been a great journey with a lot of experience. My business wouldn’t be it is today without the support from the accelerator. For example the support of the investment readiness process gave us a greater picture of how to meet and talk to investors and thanks to the big group of mentors from all over the world with different knowledge. There is a possibility to get expert help quickly in the area that you need. All from economy to pitching.”
